The Home Dramatic company gave a splendid play last Saturday night entitled "The Atonement." The company com-pany played for the benefit of Sunday school work, going: to Centerfield last night and Saturday they go to Mayfield. We have heard a number of favorable comments and there seems to be general satisfaction. The company com-pany is cosmopolitan an I open and engagement en-gagement at the Colonial in Salt Lake next Sunday. Jones and Mrs. O Gustaveson together called by surprise upon Mrs. George H. Knighton on the eve of her birthday on the 14th. Progressive sixty-three sixty-three was in entertaining feature music and refreshments supplying variety. The Relief society had a fine time Wednesday, the 20th, celebrating the ! seventieth anniversary of the first I organization which occurred Sunday. The afternoon was given to a short program and warm refresnment; reminiscences re-miniscences were told by Nora Jensen, Gustava Capson and F. Ludvigson; the Mothers' class work was explained by Martha Bardsley and Pres. Minnie C. Taylor gave the welcome address. A dance in the opera house formed enjoyment enjoy-ment for the evening. Mrs. Belle Sorenson was hostess at her home for a recent meeting of the I Self Culture club, serving a delicious luncheon, assisted by Mrs. Linda Jensen, Jen-sen, after the proceedings. A feature of the afternoon was the initiating of Mrs. Eva Jensen as a member of the club. Mrs. Mildred Swain read in continuation con-tinuation from "Rebecca." The death of Jacob Baum happened yesterday early in the forenoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mads. Jorgen-son, Jorgen-son, Kearns' ranch. Deceased had nearly reached his seventy-sixth year and passed away without warning. He came to be with his daughter a short time ago from Provo and his remains will be shipped there Saturday for burial. Mrs. George H. Knighton entertained entertain-ed a number of lady friends in honor of her birthday, which occurred on the 15th. Refreshments were served and a pleasant afternoon had. Mrs. Knighton Knigh-ton was presented by her guests, with ! a pretty hand satchel. Present were Mesdames Michael Jensen, Magda Slakes, J. J. Pickett, Yetta Sorenson, J. A Tuft, John Larson, T. F. Kearns and John A. Larson and Mr. and Mrs. ! L. H. Wilson. A very pretty affair of the week was the social on Friday evening at the home of Mrs. C. M Madsen, where the Self Culture club gave a St. Patrick I party. The decorations and other details de-tails were all suggestive of the Emerald Isle. Various games and an Irish romance were features of the evening ; aside from the sumptuous luncheon. j C. N. Jensen and others gave amusing j toasts.
