Show ITEMS HERE AND THERE Picked Up About the Town and Heard From Over the County Items of General Interest to People of Best County in the State ANOTHER CLD PIONEER PASSES TO OTHER SIDE Brought to an earlier death than would have been her lot, by the ravages of the Grim Reaper among- her loved ones, Mrs. Eunice Petty of Castledale was called.from this sphere last Tues-day Tues-day evening after a comparatively short illness. Mrs. Petty retumed.about two weeks ago from a visit with her daughter Mrs. Cbeckettsin Helper.and was immediately immediate-ly taken sick. Everything- that could be was done for her but she gradually became wors; until the nd Tuesday night. She has had more than her share of trouble and sorrow in the last few months and it is more than likely that her demise is partially due to this cause. Her 6on, Frank was called to an untimely, untime-ly, grave a few months ago an! a brother, broth-er, Gardner Snow, of Manti, passed away but a little while afterward. Mrs. Petty was born in Missouri February 5, 1850. Coming to Utah Bhe resided in Manti and Sterling in Sanpete county for some time, m irrying Heber C. Petty at the former place. She came to Emery about twenty-Beven twenty-Beven years ago, being one of the first to enter the valley. Her husband died at the latter place August 22, 1902, and Mrs. Petty soon afterward came to Cistledale where she has resided since; L living in the old Rasmussen home opposite op-posite the bank. ' During her residence in Castledale, and in fact, wherever she has lived, she has been known as a sister and mother to those in sffliction and by her happy disposition gained friends by the scores. She well merited the high regard re-gard in which she is held everywhere The deceased .leaves a number of children to mourn her departure, all of whom except George were present when the body was taken to Emery for burial, in accordance with her wishes. A sister, Mrs. MellPeicock of Manti, now residing in Salt Lake City is also left to mourn her sisters demise. The funeral was held yesterday at E nery. It was well attended by the nuny friends of the deceased lady who thereby showed t.ie.r love and respect for her. |
