Many made the trip horseback. Principal F. W. Reid of the Orange-.lle Orange-.lle school also took advantage of the j natural instinct ot heaithy poy3 and girls that takes the ascendancy at this lime of year, and tok his eighth grade I pjpils out for a good mind development trip. Among other places visited wtie the local Consolidated Wagon and Machine Ma-chine Co. agency where they were shown every courtesy by the local manager, C. E. Larsen; and the Progress Pro-gress office, where they gained a little insight into the making of the county newspaper, being shown the presses, and methods of working same, and also al-so the "sticking" of the type. Each i . pupil was liven his initials in nonpireil lower case type as a little memento of the visit. The local school children didn't fare ij well as far as excursions were concerned. con-cerned. No official trips were taken but about a third of the students took the matter into their own hands, went on a little "hooky" trip, and have been tripping to the office of Trustee Berg for his signature to excuses every sine;. The stay-at-school boys and girls were all treated to peanuts by their respective respec-tive teachers. "V- |
