Show WILL MOORE LOSES ONE OF HIS FEET will moore who is well known in emery county where he has relatives living lost one of his feet by ampula tion lately it will be remembered that moore was recently tried in san pete and grand counties for horse stealing the moab times of dec 1 thus speaks of moore s misfortune dr williams and party reached the scene of the accident to will moore reported in last week s times on sat arday noon and found moore a cond tion such that amputation of the fool appeared necessary the doctor ac compan led moore to grand junction hospital reaching there sunday night the ride across the desert was rough and painful as a long distance had 10 be made over a route where no wagon road existed the valley city camp was reached about 10 p m saturday evening where they rested until next day and then went into thompson in time to get the evening train into grand junction drs bull hansen and williams amputated the foot that night and dr williams returned to moab on tuesday he reports moore doing as well as possible considering the nature of the accident the accident occurred on friday evening the horse moore was riding reared back moore struck the ground on his foot in a sandy place the horse came over in some way striking moore s leg so that a dislocation took place at the ankle and the ends of the bone forced out several inches through the flesh moore was over a mile from camp and alone he crawled a part of the distance in when S E connell who was working with him found and brought him to camp where he made him as comfort able as possible and rode for assist ance it was over six hours before connell could return during which time moore lay alone the suffering that he underwent before medical as si stance could reach him about beigh teen hours after the accident can only be imagined |
