We believe he is doing a splendid work. As merchants, we were proud of the fact that we had sold so many of the instruments in the band- It seemed to us that most of the instruments which had been purchased this year were furnished by Everton & Sons store. We are sure that the boys who got from our their instruments store got full value for their money, and we propose to continue to give such values, that we shall continue to furnish a major proportion of the instruments for this band. We are interested in the band; ve want to see it climb to the top, and well do anything we can to boost it up. catch these waves as they come. It is an unusual thing for a radio to wear out- When it fails to operate properly, it is just something that needs adjusting, and usually the expense of making this adjustment is only slight .In most cases it is one of the tubes that has lost its strength. If your radio is not working just as well as it did when it was new, let our radio man go over it. It will cost you nothing to have your tubes tested, if you bring them to the store. We have a , special machine for this purpose, and in just a few minutes we can tell whether the tubes in your radio are good or not, and we can tell you just which Howard McKinney one is bad- - If there is some other adjustment to be made in your machine, our man will Opens Up New repair it for you. In the selection of food, the senses of sight and smell cooperate with the sense of taste in selecting the proper food for the body. Food which does not look good is rejected; if it does not smell good, we conclude that it does not taste good. Good cooks understond this, and they exert themselves to make their dishes appeal to the eye as well as the palates- When you sit at a table which has been spread by an expert cook, your mouth waters because the foods looks like it would be The same food, served good. in a less attractive way might be repulsive in place of attractive, and certainly, much of the joy of the meal would be removed if the attractive appearance of the food were not in evidence. If you buy your silverware at Evertons store, you will find that the silverware itself will altract favorable comments. EVERTON re uve very interested in a story told us. recently by a man. with a family, who has been out of work a great part of this summer. lie found a m.fn who had a job to do, and the man offered him the job if he would take wheat for the pay. The wheat was stored and now he has flour for the coming year. He found another man who had a rig that could he used for hauling wood from the canyon. He proffered to go with the man to get the wood, and the man gave tym every fourth load. He had to go to the canyon four days to .get one load of wood, but he kept it up until he got his winters wood. Then in the fall he took a load of wood to Brigham City, and there he had no difficulty in trading his load of wood for a load of peaches, lie brought the peaches to his home, and then traded a part of them for some sugar, and thus was provided with the means of putting up the fruit for the familys winter supply. Other turns, equally ingenious had to be made in order to get hay for the cow and clothing for the children. As winter approaches, this family finds themselves pretty well supplied with the necessities of life, although the father has been unable to get work during the summer. As we view the financial situation, it is doubtful when we may expect such prosperity as we enjoyed during 1928 and 1929, and it is extremely foolish for us to sit around and wait for that time. We believe that every man should follow the example set by the man referred to above should find a way to get the things that his family must have to support life during the coming winter. Picking potatoes on shares, working for a small wage which is to be taken in wheat, cutting down trees, or going to the canyon to provide wood for the winter, working for money whenever that is possible in order to provide clothing. We believe that everyone will get more joy out of life if they will do these things themselves, rather than wait for someone else to do for them; the Mirrors in Our Window? had a display of mirrors in our window which attracted considerable attention. When these men went into the American army, they had already been trained in one of the essentials of warfare they knewf how to shoot, and this is one of the big reasons why the American colonies were successful in their fight for liberty. Since that tune many occasions have arisen when it was a very fortunate thing for the government that the citizens knew how to use and handle gains. Everton & Sons have been criticized for constantly displaying firearms in their w'indows. Some have said that this display looks warlike, that is it hardly in keeping with the Christian spirit to display guns which might be used in killing other people. With Lowe Brothers Quick Drying Enamel you ran paint your woodwork, your furniture, your floors, or your walls, and in just a few hours it is dry and the furniture can be placed back in service. This quick enamel is not the kind that is hard to use. If you have tried quick enamel which was hard to use, we know that it was not Lowe Brothers Quick Enamel, for this is easy to use- It does not show laps. Another thing that you will like about Lowe Bros. Quick Enamel is that is covers so much better than the old style enamel with Lowe Brothers Quick Enamel, an undercoat is unnecessary. It may be necessary in some cases to use two coals of the quick drying enamel,' but in most cases one coat will serve the purpose. If you haven't tried this new enamel, you owe it to yourself to give it a trial. Peter McLaren, the Chopper Looking Dishes It is no longer necessary to invest a fortune in order to get a dinner set which looks good. We have a number of patterns of high grade American ware which are beautiful, and which would look good on any table, and the price of these sets is low that you cannot afford to feel humiliated every time in your you have company home because your dishes, are not as nice as you would like. His children after him followed in his footsteps and continued in the powder business until the revolutionary war. Everton & Sons, who are descended from this worthy are not handling more amunition than any other company in America ,but we do handle more ammunition than most stores- We recently received the largest shipment of pistol and rifle ammunition that ever came to Coche Valley. If you are interested in ammunition, for target practice, or for sheepherders you will find it to your advantage to consult us about your wants, as we are able to make very attractive prices on quantity purchases of ammunition. Helped Us a Lot Several hundred people saw' Peter McLaren, the champion wood chopper, rhop a big log in two in three minutes in front of our store some months ago. He used the famous Plumb Axe. At the time he made this demonstration, we wondered if it was worth while, but we have decided that it was very much worth while. Our sales of plumb axes have doubled and trebeled in the weeks that have passed since Peter McLaren visited us. People continue to talk about the wonderful feat he performed in chopping off his log, and they continue to call for the Plumb axe which he used in doing his trick. The Plumb axe is a solid steel axe. It is steel on both ends, and is therefore stronger and will stand more hard usage than the ordinary axe. After Mr. My Laren had chopped the log off. his axe was still sharp enough to shave the hairs of fhis arm, all of which would indicate that it would be pretty hard to find a better axe than a Plumb Axe Of course, Everton & Sons sell the Plumb Axe. Steel Ranges Sell Well We all know that there is a financial depression, and still cooking must go on. Meals must be cooked in every home, every day, and to do this ranges must be used. Because we have been offering some extra good values in steel ranges many people have come to us for their ranges this summer and fall, and our sales have been quite satisIf you contemplate factory. buying a range, why not come to our store to buy it. You will be surprised at the small cost of dinnerware if you wil ome in and look over the oeautiful sets which we have to offer. Pocket Knives ' . Are Cheaper The price of pocket knives continues to decline. We are able to better offer a better knife for 49 cents than we have ever been able to offer before. Our dollar knife is better than the knife winch we sold for a dollar before the war, and our 49 cent scout knife is a value which has never been equaled in the history of pocket knives so far as we can remember. - ; i; . Are Now Here This year, as usual ,we will have a nice stock of Christmas toys, including dolls, games, and all other things that boys and girls delight in. These toys have already been purchased and shipped to us, so that we will soon be able to put them on display. As usual, we suggest that you buy your toys early this year. Those who wait until last tio not have the privelege of selecting the kind that they want. They must take what is left, and the thing that's left is mnay times not the thing they want- Youll find that it will pay you to shop at Evertons this year when you are in the market for toys. - Rent What a . -- vi t Where Afe They Going? Cache Valley people have lost many thousands of dollars in the yast year tluuugh failure to continue paying their installments on merchandise which they have and the merchant who sold the goods, have likewise lost because the goods could not be sold for enough to pay tiie installments. If these two dollars are going to be spent for hardware, then we invite you to consider Everton & Sons store as a place where they bo spent.
