The fair will continue through Aug. 17, at the Salt Lake County Equestrian Park and Event Center in South Jordan, 11400 South 2200 West. "We expect more than 65,000 to make tracks to the fair," said Garin Lamph, Salt Lake County Fair Director. "This is our fourth year at the new location and we've seen attendance bump up a little each year." Festivities will include Dan Seals in concert, boxing, demolition derbys, live entertainment, food court. Hazardous waster items include asbestos, solvents, paint, oil products, propane, batteries, tires, refrigerators, pesticides, gasoline and feron. As the trailers fill up, they will be removed and replaced throughout the week of the clean-u"We were overwhelmed with the response we had last time we did this," White said. "We'd leave the containers empty at the beginning of the day and we'd come back the next morning p. and they would be full again." "We will have approximately 5,000 child fingerprinting kits to give away free, as well as a limited amount of gun locks and smoke alarms. There will be K-- 9 demonstrations, informational literature, police officers on hand to answer questions and much more." During the fair the 5,000 child fingerprinting kits will be given away. The child fingerprinting kits are being distributed by the Police Department's Community Oriented Police Unit The kits include an ink strip and spaces for fingerprints. There is also a place for recording a child's name and important information, a growth chart, and spaces for a photograph and lock of hair. |
