South Temple in Salt Lake City. 22-Ap- ril The Grand Behive Exhibit which originally opened in September of 1980 at the Salt Lake Art Center, explores the pervasive motiff of early (Mormon word meaning honey bee) territory. It traces the use of what became Utahs state symbol from its roots in 1847 to the present, and perhaps more importantly, allows a significant insight into the cultural and psychological social order embraced then and now by the residents of the state. folk objects plus several new beehives have been purchased as a permanent complement to this extensive collection. Following its Glendinning showing, the Grand Beehive will be assembled as a traveling exhibition for tour to various cities throughout Utah during the coming year. The council is also seeking a home for the exhibit.
