February 181982 STATEWIDll Combined Young State senator to speak at Women Aware and Women's Standard Night Held Choosing Conference The Magna Utah East Stake sponsored a Combined Young Womens Standard Night Wednesday, February 10 at 7 p.m. The prelude music was played by Brenda McKendric, conducted by Suzanne Ogden. The opening song was, "The Spirit of God Like a Fire is Burning. Opening prayer was given by Julina Sanderson. The greeting was by Judy Belliston. The musical selection was, "When Someone Cares, Tammy Robertsen, Leslie W ard, Bonnie Bracken, Jodi Fraser, Meri-L- u Wilkey, Dawn Langford, and Peggy Andraeson. The music was directed by Dorothy Bracken, and accompanied by Brenda McKendric. The guest speaker was Beverly Cloward, introduced by Suzanne Ogden. Cloward is a former YW president of the Magna East Stake. Closing song was, I Need Thee Every Merri-L- u Hour. was the Wilkey Chorister. Closing prayer was given by BEVERLY CLOWARD served in the Cultural Hall. Cloward spoke to the young women and their parents on growing up and enjoying it. She pointed out the need to set high standards now, and to settle for nothing but the best. Michele Maxfield. Lemon cheesecake and punch were Utah State Senator Frances Farley will be the keynote speaker at the "Women Aware and Choosing conference, February 27 at Murray High School, 5440 South State Street. Sponsored by the Utah Girl Scout Council, the workships are open to adult Girl Scout volunteers nand interested women from throughout the valley. Reservation must be made by Friday with Utah Girl Scout Council, 2386 East 2760 South, Salt Lake City. Plan for a healthy and happier YOU in workshops designed for todays women: Womens Health and Sexuality by Dr. Patty Reagan, U of U Health Science Dept.; Womens Work by Dr. Karen Fisher, Assistant Dean to Center on Academic Counseling, U of U; Womens WeL Being by representative from the American Cancer Society and the Rape Crisis Center; All In Your Mind,by Anita Gander, MSW, Corporate Counselor in private practice. The conference will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Cost is $3.50 per person and includes a salad bar luncheon and beverages during the day. A cancer screening clinic is scheduled at which breast examination, pelvic, Pap test and blood pressure reading will be conducted. All examintions will be performed in private by specially trained registered nurses. A small fee will be charged according to icome. Water 40 gal.
