Y. U. varsity and freshman teams, which was played on Timpanogos field yesterday afternoon, proved to be," as was predicted, a most interesting bout, according to those who saw it. The aggressive freshmen tore into the veterans in the first moment of play in a manner that seemed to bewilder the heavier varsity men. The youngsters kept on the offensive during a large part of the game, The varsity line .showed up well, 'but the back field, especially after the removal of Packard with a frac-- ; tured elbow, seemed to find difficulty In solving the freshmens offense or defense. When the varsity had the ball the frosh ends repeatedly got around behind, where they had litle difficulty In pulling down the varsity runner whose interference was invariably in front of him, leaving the rear wholly unprotected. The scoring came in the last quarter, when the varsity made a touchdown, followed almost immediately by one for the freshies. The game jended 6to 6, as neither team kicked goal. According to those present the freshmen made a wonderful showing, A New York physician reports a while the weaknesses of the varsity CARELESS OF HER. team were apparent.
