Show WILLIAM BATY DIES SUDDENLY with a suddenness that shocked all who knew him william gaty daty died last friday afternoon at his home in harper lie he had not enjoyed good health tor for some time past having been at dietel dieted with kidney disorders and on fri friday ay morning lie he P iose from ills his bed and prepared to go about his work as usual ile he was doing some irrigating out in the held field when he was overcome and fell to the ground members ot of his family saw him fall all and ran to his bis assistance carried him into the house where he passed away some time later mr air baty has been a resident of harper ward since the spring of 1862 when he came there in company with his father and other relatives he was born bom in england november 1852 and accepted the gospel in that land when but a youth in 1861 the family started tor for america and while coming across the plains the wife and mother died and was buried the family came on to salt lake city where they resided during the balance of that year re moving to calls fort the following spring which has since been the home of the children mr air baty was the father of fourteen children a pair of twins being among the little flock both of whom died however one in infancy and the other in early young manhood there are surviving him a wife nine girls and three boys and the sympathy of all their friends goes out to them in their bereavement mr air berty baty was an unassuming man who minded his own business strictly he was honest and frugal in ills his habits and his bis large family stands an honor to his name in the community where they reside he was a pioneer in the up building of the ward where he re resided 8 ld e d and knew the lesson of hard knocks funeral services w were ere held in the harper ward meeting house sunday at 2 p m bishop thaddeus wight presided and those who made remarks were bishop thomas bhea wheatley of honeyville W W lasley hyrum frodsham of rockland idalio idaho elder seaman of pleasant grove bishop T H blackburn bishop R A johnson Joliff so of deaver beaver dam pres ANT C horsley II pres res L A snow and bishop wight the musical numbers were the hymns high on the mountain top oh ye mountains high and when first the I 1 glorious light of truth by the cho choir ir and between speakers callie lund sang my loved one rest and leslie AV pierce sang 0 my father the prayers were offered by elders ell eli T pierce and jos F gibbs there was a prof profusion of flowers and a large attendance |
