Because of the water depth, the National Park Service is utilizing their camera equipped vessel to search the area. Utah State Parks is assisting the National Park Service with search efforts. Schmidtke was not wearing a personal flotation device but was reported to be a good swimmer. National Park Service personnel have been on scene since being notified Saturday afternoon and the search is continuing. The search area, which is concentrated in Rock Creek Bay, was delineated by a GPS unit that was onboard the vessel Schmidtke was riding on.
