After retiring, they moved to Kanab, UT where they have since resided. Eugene loved southern Utah and Kanab. He Eugene McNeill and Luceil especially loved Lake Powell, Zion and Bryce Canyon. Eugene was an avidhorserider and when they first moved to Kanab he spent many hours riding and caring for his horses. He maintained a beautiful garden and orchard. He and Luceil enjoyed sightseeing and traveling throughout the west. Eugene was gentle, dependable, genuine, and was always concerned for his family. His April 18, 1909, died in Lancaster, California on March 25, 2000, following a lengthy illness. Married James E. Lee Sr., on October 26, 1926. Opal was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy, sons Glenn A. Lee and Robert R. Lee. She is survived by her son James E. (Helga) Lee Jr., and daughter Donna Mae (Sherman) Whitson, 16 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren, eight great-gregrandchildren and many nieces and nephews in Fredonia and Kanab.
