Show Feature SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 4, 1998 The Kanab Cowboys advanced to round two of the State Football Playoffs with a convinc4 win over the Juab ing last Wasps Friday night. Cowboy quarterback Rory Brunner led the offensive charge, completing 12 of 22 passes for 321 yards and three touchdowns. Brunner ran in the other score with 1:11 left in the First half from nine yards out when he scrambled and dove, doinga complete flip into the end zone to put Kanab up 14-- 0 going into the halftime break. 27-1- Senior linebacker Matt McFadden came up big on fense once again. He made 30 tackles and his hard hits sent numerous Juab players out of the game, requiring medical attention. Juab received the opening kickoffon their own 34. The Cowboy defense came up big right away, stopping the Wasps on a fourth and one from their own 43. The Cowboys were forced to punt after three plays gained little. Jason Blanchard pinned the visitors deep in their own territory by punting the ball out of bounds on Juab's three yard line. Three plays later Juab was punting from the one yard line.
