Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS EWS t WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 4, 1998 Fredonla Planning & Zoning meeting Utah Highway Patrol For the week of October 10th to the 16th, troopers of the Utah Highway Patrol stopped a total of 151 vehicles, issued 78 tions, wrote 81 warnings, investigated five accidents, and assisted 15 motorists. On the 10th, Trooper Nordfelt attended the local health fair. On the 11th, Trooper ClufT was involved in a minor cardeer accident. On the 15th, Trooper Bailey investigated a carcow accident. Thanh Dam was uninjured after hitting a cow near milepost 138 on SR 89. On the 16th, Trooper Bailey y acinvestigated a non-injur- cident involving Michael Srsen, who had slid off the roadway near milepost 118. Seconded by Anita Black. All were n favor. r - During the period from October the Kanab City Police Department handled 10 cases, 14 incidents, issued eight warnings, and 10 citations. During the same period the Animal Control Officer had two investigations, picked up two animals, issued two citations, and six warnings. 21-2- 8, October 6 Theft. Chris McCune, 26, AZ, Tasha MacFarlane, 20, Fredonia, AZ. Male suspect kept an eye out for female while female stole money from a drawer at a local business. Theft of $100 cash. Both suspects cited for the theft. October 24 Minor consumption of alcohol. Suspect was approached in the High School parking lot and found to be under the influence October 14 alcohol. Suspect cited and dim his headlights. Suspect Kane County Sheriff October 22 Item streets-Discusse- The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime, does not mean he is guilty. The defendant is presumed innocent, until and unless proven guilty. Names will be withheld in some cases due to the sensitive nature of the crimes, or if the defendant is a juvenile. A hunter was reported over- due after not returning home the night before. A search was initiated and the hunter was found on the North Fork Road. He had been stuck in the mud. The jail had six new bookings and an average population of 2 1. October 23 A female was arrested in Church Wells on an outstanding felony warrant out of Oregon. She was transported and booked into the jail. The jail had three new bookings and an average population of 18. October 24 A report of threats being made was investigated in Glendale. A shoplifting complaint was reported in Orderville. The suspects were not found after they left the store. An overdue hiker was reported in the Paria Canyon area. He was found later that day unharmed. The Sheriff s Office assisted the UHP on a one car at milepost 79. .Two people were arrested after the investigation. roll-ov- er The jail had two new bookings and an average population of 16.
