But the bottom line was-yo- u were dead! Its hard to enjoy your brief moment in the. sun, when youre six feet under! The same goes for most of our favorite passtimes today. People seem to eijoy rage, ravage and destruction...in fact, they pay mightily to see it. they doing? Spectators go to watch cars crash into one another. The last beat-u- p heap left running, is the celebrated winner. I used to get punished for the same thing when I was a teenager! Ive been in big cities as Im sure many of you have. One doesnt have to pay money to witness vehicle carnage-jus-t go to Los Angeles during rush hour. Now everyone has heard my views on football. You cheer for men tackling and grabbing one another in inappropriate places. Naturally I know my perception is unpopular, I live in 'Si' home with four boys: Im the one who tries to get my sons to put pillows over their padding so they wont get hurt. But at least Im easy to spot at football games. Im the only one cheering when my son doesn't get tackled. Hockey isnt much better. Grown men on skates chase a small, round orb around the rink, and try to get it into the net on the other guys side. Now this concept seems harmless an- - V 55 ALTVEMa-tur- e Driving class would be held in July. This class is open to all drivers with special emphasis on those over 55 years of age. Utah law provides fora discount on auto insurance for drivers over this age. To be eligible for the discount, drivers must take a safe driving course at least every three years. The 55 Alive Mature Driving course satisfies that requirement. The course is given in two four hour sessions over two days. Fee for the course is $8. There are no tests given as this course is designed as a refresher for experienced drivers. The course is planned to be given July 15 and 16 at 1 p.m. The class will be held at the Kanab Senior Cen0 or 644- ter. Please call 2340 for more information and to reserve your place in the' class, at least nine people are needed. This course gives information on age related problems as pertains to driving. Examples are slower reaction time, medications, hearing and vision problems that are age related.
