Each year I think fresh garden produce cant possibly taste better! Then every following year after all the sweating effort to plant, weed, thin and water, here comes the harvest. At first timidly tiptoeing in with that same superior taste we just cant get enough of. Then suddenly, were totally inundated! We cant possibly find places for it all. Thats when the going gets tough and the tough get going, putting it in bottles, freezer, and drver. What a great life! Remember, with those tomato vines producing so heavily they could really benefit from several sprayings, through the balance of the summer, with a good foliar spray to keep them well fed. Plants can more quickly make use of nutrients in a foliar spray than putting them into the soil. The only organic fertilizer I was able to find locally for foliar feeding was Fish Emulsion which serves well. There is an even better spray, called Sea Rich Foliar Spray, an organic liquid concentrate of fish emulsion and kelp extract, that really helps plants when they are stressed.
