Bob Thompson, Adjutant, says all three boys are excellent young men and that the competition was close. The Post is trying to obtain additional seats for the eight thousand young men nationwide enroll in the Boys State Program. President Clinton, Dick Cheney, Tom Brokaw and Neil Armstrong are a few distinguished men who have participated. By Stacey Heaton Valley High School and art teacher Laura Johnson are pleased to invite the public to an art display being shown in the Kane County School District Offices. Students in grades 2 have been working hard all year to complete their projects for this display. The art produced by Valley students is a culmination of three trimesters of work. Pictures vary in subject and technique. This display illus- trates the talent and artistic two alternates. Brian is the son of Dan and Laurie Merrell; Kyle of Brian and Kathie Avery; and Michael of Mark and Sheri Downward. The art work also reflects the effort and ability to encourage students by Mrs. Johnson. One special section of the display has been produced by the 8th grade. At the beginning of the year, the 8th graders each drew a picture. After studying and practicing all year, the students again drew the same picture to show their progress and enhanced abilities. New Hope Bible Church calls new pastor The congregation of the New Hope Bible Church have called the Rev. Arnold Studebaker of Page, Arizona to be their pastor. His official installation was held at the church on April 28. Dr. Stephen Labar of Phoenix, Director of the Southwest Conservative Baptist Association, gave the charge to the pastor and the charge to the church. Before being formally called, Pastor Studebaker had served the New Hope Church as pulpit supply since last October. He e will assume duties at Kanab in June, and will reside at the parsonage with his wife, Lou Ann, and son Stephen. His daughter Heather is employed in Scottsdale, Arizona. Pastor Studebaker will resign his current position as Department Head, Academic, at Shonto Boarding School at the end of caMay, concluding a reer in elementary education, including 17 years in the BIA. Studebaker feels honored by the call to the church, and privileged by the opportunity to live and work in such a beautiful community. He has expressed his deep appreciation of the history and heritage of the area. Pastor Studebaker earned a BA in elementary education from Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana, and his MA 18 hours at NAU in Flagstaff.
