Show UM "Triiii bii t in m i I, ini i I in 'TrT"iriirTfrmT SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY 1993 AUGUST Opinion It Dixie Speaks Fair game When I was a li ttle girl, one of the biggest highlights of the year was attending and participating in the County Fair. It was grand excitement-th- e animals, the people, the food, and the projects. Ah yes, the projects! I remember spending hours trying to perfect my entry in the baking competition-- a plain brownie. I never really did that well, (and haven't improved much since) but it didn't matter because just being a part of the County Fair was reward enough. When you think about it, a County Fair is something very unique. It's the local people's show. It's their food, their animals, their art and their lives on display, to share, admire, and appreciate. You can't leave a County Fair without being impressed with the talent of those participating. The Kane County Fair begins today, and the Northern Arizona Fair follows in several weeks. These two events provide an opportunity for all of us to appreciate that which is good about our area. We applaud organizers, as well as those who enter the competitions for their perseverance and hard work. Both Fairs need our support to be successful. Take the time to celebrate country! 4-- H 4-- H Letters to the Editor What is your opinion ? This newspaper welcomes opinions from its readers concerning any subject.
