Cysts of the organism pe found in the feces of infected individuals or animals which find their way into open water sources. Infected people have a difficult time absorbing fats and fat soluble vitamins. They may also become dehydrated. Children and adults with chronic diarrhea problems who may be infected with Giardia should see their doctor since there are medications for Giadia that can be prescribed, according to Coffman. n To control transmission, special emphasis is placed on personal cleanliness. The Southwest Utah District Health Department recommends washing the hands thoroughly after going to the toilet or changing a babys diaper. Toilet bowls should be scrubbed and disinfected with a commercially available toilet bowl cleaner. Disposable diapers should be placed in a plastic bag or paper sack, sealed and discarded in a closed container. For cloth diapers or soiled clothes, a few ounces of a household bleach in the diaper pail and soaking a few hours before washing is recommended. Employees or volunteers in institutions, such as church nurseries and daycare centers, need to be particularly careful. The Kane County Commission is holding a public meeting to discuss the County's first option to purchase the Kanab Clinic, owned by Dr. Roberts. The meeting will be held on December 5, 1988, at 7:00 p.m. in the Commission chambers, Kane County Courthouse. The public is invited to attend and have their questions and options heard. person-to-perso- Sam Aiken holds his hands over the eyes of Caleb Abbott while Caleb draws the winning name In the Duke's Clothing sponsored Mazatlan Mexico trip drawing last Wednesday. The Foundation reports indicated that there are signs that the population from Utah soon may be ending. Migration trends usually are a reflection of the availability of employment opportunities. Over the past 12 months, the number of nonagricultural jobs in Utah rose by more than 20,000. This is more than double the rate of new jobs created in 1986 and 1987. The study shows that enrollments currently are rising in 26 Utah school districts and declining in 14 districts. Most of the increase in school enrollments in Utah continues to be concentrated in the suburban districts along the Wasatch Front and in Washington County.
