Some of the townspeople attended the wedding and reception of Geno Ramsay and bride held in Kanab last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Palmer and family members went to St. George (Friday) today to pick up their son who has been on a mission. Welcome home, DeRay. Mr. and Mrs. Max Heaton are in Bountiful and Salt Lake City visiting friends and relatives. Gerald Glover, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Glover underwent surgery for his heart Friday at the Primary Childrens Hospital in Salt Lake City. It is reported that he came through the operation and they feel it was successful. We wish the little lad a speedy recovery.. The Arts and Craft Fair held at the Orderville Ward Cultural Hall Friday and Saturday was a success, thanks to Right back, Cindy Hoyt, Jennifer to a lot of people putting in a lot of REFLECTIONS PROGRAM-L- eft work and time. It also shows we have Bridges front Heather Hamblin and Vanessa Casebolt were local a lot of talented people in our representatives in the PTA Reflections Program. Jennifer, Heather, and community who are willing to share Vanessa will represent Kanab Elementary at state. Cindy received their talents with us. Mr. and Mrs. Elburn Sorensen honorabla mention. were in Cedar City and Provo Friday and Saturday helping the Stan MOVING TO JOHNSON CANYON Sorensen family move to Provo where Stan has employment. Darren Brinkerhoff. son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Brinkerhoff) report his mission. Some 1 know who went were his grandparents, the Earl Sorensens, the DarLynn Sorensens, the Mack Esplins, the Merlin Esplins, Farel Lamb and probably others. Jay Cox, son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Cox, reported his mission in Thailand Sunday. His parents also spoke and it was a very enjoyable meeting. Several of the Cox family were here to hear him report his mission. The brother of Ronald Taylor was a visitor at their home last week. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Gehrig and children spent the weekend in Las Vegas visiting Marks mother who recently had surgery. Stanley Heaton was home visiting his parents, the LaMond Heatons, from his studies at Trade Tech in ' Provo. T ,Tfc were in Salt Lake City last weekend. Penny Cox was home from St. George visiting her parents, the Allen Coxs. Eric Russell went to Provo with Vowels Mike Sunday to find employment and attend Trade Tech, Carol Lee and Lucinda and children went Tuesday. Carol Lee will visit the rest of the week in Orem. L KATHRYN BAIRD JANA MCMULLIN Four Chosen To Represent Valley In Girls State The Long Valley American Legion Auxiliary have chosen four girls to attend Girls State this June. They were chosen for their poise and personality, leadership, knowledge of government and desire to attend Girl State. The girls are Kathryn Baird, daughter of Arden and Colleen; Alauna Hoyt, daughter of Val and Mera; Brenda Crofts, daughter of Bessie and Lincoln, and Jana Kane County EMT Report from Lazy Days Apartments to the hospital. On March 22 at approximately 2 p.m., 16 month old Melinda Carpenter was transported to Dixie Medical Center in St. George by EMTs Carlene Honey and Bill Canning. Kane County Emergency Medical Technicians responded to three calls during the past week, one of which was cancelled. On March 21 at approximately 12 noon EMTs Kim Soper and Bob Aiken responded to a call to assist Delia Riddle. She was transported Xj:n 7 a McMullin, daughter of Richard and Florence. These girls and at least 375 other Junior girls from all over the State will spend a week on the SUSC campus learning more about our government, our flag and each other. We congratulate them and give thanks to their judges, Mrs. Pam Frost, Mrs. Jeannie Goulding and Miss Merriann Heyborne, all former Girl Staters.
