Most of the snow has melted and it is still melting. We have had some beautiful, warm, sunny days this week. The Cub Scouts took advantage of the snow and went to Roger Chamberlains place to go tubing. They brought tubes, sleds and families and had a good time. They served hot chocolate around the fire at the close of the pack meeting. The Boy Scouts went just one step further and went out to the Sand Dunes with the rest of the scouts from the Stake. They camped overnight Friday night and competed in winter camp activities on Saturday morning. My Scout had nothing but good to say. He summed it up by saying, When we finally went to sleep, I slept About ten of our men got up early Saturday morning to attend the special Priesthood sessions at the temple. They were home by noon to finish out the Saturday work load. Lonna Spencer and her mother, Nellie Frost, went to Ferron this weekend to find housing for Lonna and Dick and their family. We hope they find something soon before Lonna gets too independent. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Chamberlain went to Church in Orderville Sunday to attend the missionary farewell of Rogers aunt and) uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Ramsay. After meeting, they enjoyed a k lunch with 91 other family members. Mrs. Elsie Brinkerhoff and Mr. and Mrs. Cal Gow also attended the services. Mr. and Mrs. Cornell Chamberlain came over to visit their son, Roger, and family and to see Sylvias sister, Loraine, before she leaves for the M.T.C. It is good to have good weather for these folks to travel in. I only saw two of our students home for the weekend: Bob Porter came to visit with his sister, Linda, and family, and Brent Drew came with some friends to play in the band for the Sophomore dance. Mr. and Mrs. Gam Swapp and family went to St. George where Da Mae went to the temple wedding of Garns granddaughter, Vivian Sorensen, to Randy Broadhead. Then they all went to Las Vegas to attend the reception. Our ward was surprised with a real shake-u- p at Sacrament meeting Sunday. Pres. Jack H. Maxwell was presiding. Released were the two counselors to the bishop: C.W. Brinkerhoff and Dee E. Porter. Sustained in their place were William B. Brinkerhoff as 1st Counselor, and Ferrill Spencer 2nd Counselor, also sustained as High Priest was Roger Chamberlain; as Seventies, Lynn Hatch and McNiel Roundy; as Elders Quorum president, William Sorbe. Danny Spencer, son of Ferrill and Alta, was advanced to a Priest. Speakers were Donna, Leah, Lue H. and Mark Brinkerhoff, CW. Brinkerhoff and Dee E. Porter, William Brinkerhoff, Ferrill Spencer and Pres. Jack H. Maxwell, with Miss Shanna Spencer rendering a solo on her flute, accompanied on piano by Leah Brinkerhoff. The meeting was interesting and we received many good things to add to our life. Bishop Gerald Spencer was retained as Bishop of our ward. Karl and Olive Spencer accompanied by son, Rodney, are visiting their children and grandchildren in Las Vegas this week. Mrs. Ella Spencer came from Cedar City this week to visit relatives and friends here and to care for a few things at home. It was good to have her here again. Mrs. Mildred Jackson enjoyed a visit with her son, Melvin, Saturday, who brought his family from Hurricane for the day. She is also happy to have her GS an iUib an Fleetwood HOME -- 4 -- 4 1,639 sq. ft.) This spacious new Fleetwood is perfect for an active, growing family.
