E. Crofts. It would be The Division of Wildlife Resources announced that Paul Woodbury has been transferred to Logan as a conservation officer in Cache County. Pauls replacement, Sandy Shep- herd, has recently moved to with his family to assume the responsibility of conservation officer for Kane County. Sandy has worked with the Division in the past on an antelope study in the Southwest Desert area west of Milford and as a conservation officer. Sandy and his wife Vicki are both happy with their new assignment and are looking forward to living in Kane James A. Atwater, father of Horace Atwater of Kanab, died Friday morning at the G. R. Aiken Rest Home in Kanab. His remains were cremated in Las Vegas and buried there. Mr. Atwater was born May 9, 1873 at New Haven, Conn., a son of James Mitchell and Elizabeth Martha Price Atwater. He married Elsie Dale Miller, March 11, 1896 at Riverside, Calif. She died February 28, 1953. He is survived by sons: Edwin IL, Coachella, Calif.; Horace L., Kanab; James Del Rey, Calif. County. Sherman Cox, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tone Blackburn, and Lolly Frost, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Frost, were united in marriage Saturday evening in a ceremony performed in the Frost home. An open house followed the wedding. Many friends from out of town attended. Orderville Wards Cub Scouts held their annual Blue and Gold Banquet in the Orderville Ward Cultural Hall Saturday evening. Valley High Schools basketball team is preparing for the Sophomore Tournament to be held in Panguitch this Friday and Satur day for the Junior Varsity team and for the State Tournament in Provo next week. Valley won d berth in the state tourney by defeating Panguitch in their game at the Round Robin Saturday. Valley Elementary Schools 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades presented an excellent patriotic program Wednesday evening. Centered on the lives of Washington and Lincoln, the program presented scenes from their lives, coupled with songs and dances of the period. The student and their teachers are to be commended for the fine performance. Friday will be Parents Day at the Valley Elementary. This year instead of individual Parent-Teache- r conferences, the parents are being invited to attend the regular school along with their children to see what happens in an ordinary school day. All parents will receive invitations to suggest the best times for them to attend. Laurels and Explorers of the Orderville Ward are preparing for their annual dinner dance to be held Saturday, March 4, in the Orderville Ward Cultural Hall. The formal affair will be under the direction of class leaders Lamb and Mel Christiansen, assisted by committees from the classes. Mr. and Mrs. Benny Riddle went to Grantsville last week for the Lo-re- ne Playhouse seeks talent for season in The Old Barn Playhouse Kanab is preparing to begin its second season and is calling local talent to audition for parts in the productions this year. Mrs. Sorensen went to Salt Lake City to help with the new baby. Mr. and Mrs. David Sorensen went to Rockville Thursday to stay with their daughter and family, the Donald DeMilles. From there they wnt to St. George Friday for the temple wedding of their granddaughter, Geraldine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Sorensen. Saturday they went to Cedar City for the wedding reception. Among others attending the reception were Mr. and Mrs. Elbern Sorensen, Mr. and Mrs. Buell Jarrett, the Hans Sorensen family, and Doratha Barton and Craig. Mr. and Mrs. Buell Jarrett from Westminster, Calif., visited with their many friends here over the weekend, returning to their home again Monday. Mr. and Mrs. David Sorensen entertained family members at a birthday dinner Monday evening honoring their son, Ivan. Visitor at the Burke Sorensen home was I.eann Heaton. The Giles Bolanders visited here from their home in Cedar City. Verla Galloway and her son Bryan, from Logan, are staying with Amy Crofts for a while. The A. B. Levangers went to St. George Saturday to visit with Conchs mother. Ipson of Panguitch, and former employee of First State Bank in Kanab, has been promoted to Installment Loan Manager of the St. George office of Zions First National Bank, according to bank president Roy W. Simmons. Don, a native of Panguitch, attended Panguitch Elementary and Junior High Schools before graduating from Panguitch High School in 1965. He later attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, and after graduating in 1968, joined the staff of the First State Bank of Salina, as a member of their management training program. In June of 1970 Don joined Zions Bank as an assistant manager of the Utah National Office in Provo. He is an active member of the American Institute of Banking.
