Two weeks ago I praised the work of Sterling Johnson in connection with the Lions TV project. You always run into problems when you thank someone publicly, because, it seems, you always miss someone. This was the case with me. It has come to my attention that there are several others of the Lions Club and some not of the club who have given much time and their own expense for our enjoyment. Among these are LaDell Alvey who is on the TV board and has spent much time, on his own, and on Garkane Power time in improving our reception. Another is Art Pryor, who has used Telephone Company time and machinery in this project. And yet others are Jim Haws and Dale Brinkerhoff from South Central Utah Telephone Company. And there are many others who have and are, and will continue to spend time on the towers and lines in order that you and I can sit in our easy chair and watch television. Now in return why dont we all pay our small amount so they can continue to bring us this service. Granted TV reception sometimes is lousy, and recently we have been able to get only one station, but we couldnt very well expect the Lions Club to stay at the towers during the recent storms and ward off the lightning. And its a fact that if we dont pay our share cf the cost, we may not even get the one station. An open mind at least furnishes an opportunity for somebody to drop a worthwhile thought into it.
