The seniors come from all over the state, and each high school chooses betM!en 24 girls to pacticipare. Nelson says she plans for 400 to participate and they all stay in the dorms and cat in the university cafeteria. Pacticipanm usually have a good GPA, are involved in the community, have a close relative that has sctved in the annal forces, or are members of the American legion Auxiliary. A 32-membcr staff made up of American legion Auxiliary women act courudors during the program and Nelson says many of these women work but •donare their time to come to Girl's Stare."
