BY HEATHER FORBES JOURNAL STAFF WRITER The Cond mip and their guests have a good laugh at Madame Arcati' strange behavior and trances, until Charles hears the voice of his fust wife, Elvira (played by Kristi Cox). To Charles' urprise and Ruth ' horror, Elvira' pirit was called back from "the other ide." Only Charles can e her, which causes Ruth much distte s as she tri to talk to Elvira. Katie Thomas', story:( Reprinted with the author' permission.) • It started out like any ·other day of my venth grade year. l was apart of the ki program at my junior high and we had class that day at the ki resort after school. Th plan was to first have our classes and then some free tim where we could meet up with friends or ski on our own to practice th kills we had learned. We were supposed to meet at the buse at 7 p .m. After my lessons and ome free time had pas d l thought it was time to meet so I went on down to the buse . Tums out no one was there and it was only 6:30 or so. I was right next to the bunny hill (the one for beginners) so I decid d to j t hop o n that lift and then join the other hill at the top to fiJUi my friends. About half way up the lift I aw my friends fl by underneath me. I leaned over and yelled but no one heard. I went to sit back up but my moist tongue had stuck to the frozen lap bar that was holding me into my seat. To thi day I'll never know how but it de.finitely was stuck. I panicked and tried to pull away. After many just in tim to do nothing. attempts I heard a pop.
