Show !MONDAY, APRIL 16. 2001 Assembly candidates final BY KIRSTEN TATE SENIOR STAFF VVRITER Seven categories of dubs and organizations have been fomled, and tv.ro delegates from each category will represent their dubs in the Assembly. The Assembly will function much like the Senate. The meetings will be on Tuesdays at 4 p.m. and will function as an open forum, follov.,ing,,par1iamentary procedure, said SUUSA College of Science Sen. nmette Wankier, a senior matt) major from Las Vegas. If a dub needs money, a bill will be written by the delegates from that category, go to ttie Assembly and present it Then, two to three people will be assigned to investigate the bill and bling their report to the next meeting. The Assembly will then make adjustments if needed or vote on the bill, said Eric Kirby, a sophomore business major for West Valley City and dubs and organizations vice president-elect. The final candidates for the seven categories are: • Professi9nal Development-Luke Yardley of DEX, Tarrence Warenski for PAC and Diane Carroll of Psi Chi. • Art and Entertainment-Haley ntus of Music, Jaime Crane of Music, Robert Ferre of the TV Club, and Katy Nafus of Orchesis. • Athletic and Recreational-Meagan Reusch of Volleyball , Jeric Leavitt of Volleyball, Gage Hansen of Cheer, Matt Pett of Cheer. • Academic Development-Ann Hills of Block and Bridal, Rhiannon Bent of Lambda Pi Eta. PAGES UNIVERSITY JOURNAL CAMPUS NEWS Give her the world. • Service and Multicultural-Steve Borg of Earth Club, Todd Fallows of Earth Club , Kassandra Harrell of the Black Student Alliance , Matthew Hamilton of the Black Student Alliance , and Franchesca Van Buren of the Hispanic Club. • Support-Evan Wilcock of PrlDE, Jason Petrovich of Presidential Ambassadors, Miranda Smith of the Residence Hall. • Greek-Spencer Koelliker of Sigma Chi , Audrey Nielson of Alpha Phi , Luis Garcia of Sigma Nu. Candidates for each category are encouraged to talk to the clubs within their category and campaign until next week. Club presidents are required to meet with their clubs and have members vote on two delegates from their category. Ballots must be in the SUUSA offices on April 18 at 5 p.m . If a club does not vote for two people, or doesn't vote at all it will be docked 100 points at the beginning of next year, Kirby said. Presidents can only vote for one person in their club . The other vote must go to a candidate outside the club. No club will be allowed to have two members in the Assembly. If the two highest votes go to members of one club, the person with the third highest number of votes will be in the Assembly .
