Governor's Honors Academy will run from July 5 to July 15. Eight SUU students will be chosen as counselors for the academy. ·we bring the top 50 students to SUU for a ten-day intensive training [session]," said Sandra Lord, director of school relations for SUU. Lord said those SUU students chosen' as counselors will receive a $500 stipend, six upper division credits and food and housing provided for the 10 days of the academy. According to school relations, the academy was founded in 1988. The academy provides Utah students with an opportunity to learn, lead and interact with some of the foremost leaders in business, technology, humanities, science, education, communication and social science. Lord said there have been many great people as guest speakers in the past. Some of the scheduled speakers are Michael 0 . Leavitt, governor of Utah; Robert F. Bennett, United States senator; Fred Esplin, KUED general manager; and ~d Eliason , Olympic archer. Attention All SUU Students!
