Show !THURSDAY, MARCH 23, 2000 DEX funds approved BY RHIANNON BENT SENIOR STAFF WRITER The SUUSA Senate approved Bill #031-00, a request to for $1 ,400 to help send Delta Epsilon Chi, a national marketing club, to the 2000 Career Development Conference National Competition. Several members of DEX spoke in the open forum and said that the competition, which all nine members of the team qualified for, was an opportunity to use marketing concepts outside the classroom. "This club has a great tradition. It's a great opportunity to show the country what SUU has to offer," said Sen. Mike Wankier (Business, Technology and Communication). "This is the type of thing that gives SUU recognition ," said Sen. Cody Wilson (Science). . The conference is scheduled for April 15-19 in Louisville, Ky. In new business, Bill #032-00 was introduced. It requested the allocation of $6,000 for the purpose of constructing a ropes course to increase team and leadership skills. Sen. Nicole Bingham (BTC) said the course was planned to be built on two acres of land north of the SUU Mountain Center. She said it was recommended that the senate approve the funding before preparing a proposal to the administration to grant use of the land . If use of the land is not granted, the funds would be used to construct a mobile leadership center housed within SUUSA with various low-impact team building activities. "It's something that [the senate has] all experienced and enjoyed. It can really add a neat flavor to SUU," said Bingham. · we want to open it to the whole campus," said Sen. Stephanie Kukic (Humanities and Social Science). The bill will be circled and posted for one week. $~~t~'t{E$T.t~NNi~~~:-:583 S Main Sufte 2, Ce~at City (435) 586-3366 5 Tans for $15 on Regular Beds and 5 Tans for $25 on Ruva Beds MAIL BOXF.S ETC: -------------------~ -------------------· 79¢ Color 4¢ Copies Copies One side • self service • 8.Sx 11" black on 20 lb. white bond • 500 limit Ask about our FULL SERVICE copy prices One side • Autocolor • Limit 50 r~ - S~DTHWEST TANNiN~ Linda Walther, 17, of Cedar City, has been reported missing since March 15.
