Jones Theatre • Evening Play Orientations, 7 p.m., Auditorium Theatre, no charge. • Greenshows, 7:30 p.m., Adams Theatre Courtyard, no charge. • Midsummer Night's Dream, Adams Theatre . 8:30 p.m. USF begins here Festival opens 38th season Fairies, a troupe of bumbling laborers who want to be actors, and four Athenian lovers kick-off the opening night of the Utah Shakespearean Festival's 1999 summer season tonight at 8:30 p.m . with the performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream in the Adams Shakespearean Theatre. Opening week festivities will include a flurry of activity with media and an opening night reception for invited guests and Festival sponsors. KSL-Ch.a nnel 5 and Carole Mikita will be broadcasting live from the Festival opening day. KVBC out of Las Vegas, SUTV and The Daily News, will also be attending opening night, as well as reporters, critics and invited guests from all over the country. Throughout the week Nancy Melich from the Salt Lake Tribune, Ivan Lincoln from the Deseret News, and Carol Cling from the Las Vegas ReviewJoumaf will all attend the Festival. Backstage Live! from Las Vegas will broadcast a live remote July 2 and 3. Special guests will also include members of the Festival's Board of Ty Burrell (above) as Oberon, Jeannie Naughton as Titania, and Jay Russell as Governors and other Utah Bottom in the Utah Shakespearean Festival's 1999 production of 'A Midsummer dignitaries.
