According to Daphne Dalley, assistant director of the Multi-Cultural Center, Students for Campus Diversity has been revived for students "interested in campus cultural diversity and in interacting with other cultures." As included in the mission statement, the group hopes to carry out their objectives of creating a network of individuals from diverse cultures, instilling a philosophy of tolerance and acceptance of all people, and building lasting relationships. There are n o requirem ents to be a part of the organization. T he leadership committee contains a wide range of ethnic backgrounds such as Polynesian, Native American, African-American, Asian, and Jewish. There are a few Caucasians involved with the organization as well. "Students for Campus Diversity has many goals they would like to accomplish," says Dalley. One goal of the group is to create a minor in ethnic studies, which would deal with issues of diversity. Also, the group would like to reach out to international students. The organization meets T hursday nights in the Multi-Cultural Center. Students interested in joining Students fo r Campus Diversity should contact Dalley at 586-7772.
