ENTERTAINMENT Jl51 Stnall Enstnbles concert set String, saxophone, clarinet, and brass groups will perform at a Southern Utah University small ensembles concert tomorrow night which will feature a premiere performance of composer Jeffrey Hoover's "Latin Steps." Hoover, who will be in attendance at the 7:30 p.m. concert, has supervised the performance of his work by a ninepiece string ensemble and clarinet soloist Michael Dean, a member of the SUU music faculty. Philip Baldwin will conduct the string ensemble in the new work. The free concert will be held in the Frank A. Thorley Recital Hall in the SUU Music Building on campus. Dean will also direct a saxophone quartet in a performance of II Allegro de Concert" by J.B. Singelee and E.A. Lefebre, and a clarinet choir performing "The Marriage of Figaro" by W. A. Mozart and L. Cailliet. Darryl Schwierjohn, a student, will conduct the choir in "Chorale Prelude No. 811 by J. Brahms and R. Fote. A 25-piece brass ensemble directed by James E. Williamson will conclude the concert with " Fanfare for the Common Man" by Aaron Copland, "Benedixisti" by Steffano Bernardi, and "Canzona Prima AS" by Giovanni Gabrieli. Metropolitan Opera to be aired Live radio broadcasts of 20 operas Canada. Local underwriting for th e over a five-month period from the KSUU broadcasts is being provided by Metropolitan Opera in New York City Ant0ne's Interiors.
