Jeremiah Ross, a freshman engineering major from Sandy, Utah, watches his "edible automobile" make its way down the raceway to victory yesterday. Ross is one of Richard Kimball's Engineering 101 design class students who were asked to construct a vehicle out of edible materials only. Some en tran ts utilized block s of cheese, graham crackers, giant sausages, French bread and dried spaghetti in their creations. Ross' cucumber-candy-cane-orange-mobile took first place, finishing the nine-foot course in 2.47 seconds. |
