Mr V E. Griffin reported on the Northwest Accredition procedure which has recently been going on in the high school. LARRY NYE one-minut- Karen Brookens, daughter of Mr and Mrs Bill Brookens, 5017 So. 2125 W , Roy, Utah received First Honorable Mention at the Music Teachers National Association in national competition for high school e voice in Washington D C. on March and 16 Karen won the Utah competition at Brigham Shopper strikes it rich Bv Nancy Lynn Larry Clinton Krzton Nye of'l363 West 2600 North, winner of is the first Safeways Great Grocery Give-Awa- y Contest in Roy Mr Nye, the data processing manager at Associated Piping and Engineering Co in Clearfield, received the chance Friday to grab as many groceries in one minute as he could At exactly 4pm with wife Shirley and six of his seven children looking on. Mr Nye raced to the meat counter a1- second4- ticked away and began l tubbing everything in sight He then proceeded down the other aisles loading whatever he could into three shopping carts until one minute was up M T.N A Young University in November 1979 and the Southwest Division at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque in January. UT (Mar 28)-- Don of been has a resident Atkinson, Roy, promoted to Colonel in the Air Force Reserve Currently Colonel Atkinson is the Commander of the 405th Combat Logistics Support Squadron (CLSS) at Hill Air Force Base, Utah Attached to his unit also are elements of the 401st CLSS stationed at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio This gives his unit a combined strength of over 600 men Colonel Atkinson is a senior pilot with over 4,000 hours in both piston and jet powered aircraft He has served as an Instructor Pilot and Flight Examiner in nine different aircraft Colonel Atkinson, in addition to being a senior pilot, has served in all areas of the aircraft maintenance field Because of his extensive experience, as both a pilot and an air craft maintenance officer, he has been selected as the Air Force Reserve Aircraft Battle Damage Repair coordinator In this position Colonel Atkinson is responsible for coordinating, development of new techniques for repair of battle Once these damaged aircraft techniques have been developed a must be teaching curriculum developed and taught to technicians Air Force wide, including the Reserves Colonel Atkinson is a graduate of Weber State College, with a BS Degree in Logistics Management He received his commission through the Aviation Cadet program in June 1953 He has served 13 years of active duty in Texas, Korea, Thailand, Germany, New York, Alabama, Mississippi, Nevada and Utah |
