M) Christmas message from LDS church president and counselors By (tlen Ierrins The First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-da- y Saints, composed of President Spencer and his two counselors, N. Eldon Tanner and Marion (i. Romney, sends a Christmas Message-Nearltwo millema ago, on a still and starry night, the wondrous cry of a newborn liabe issued forth from a humble shelter in the little town of Bethlehem. For unto us a child is born, wrote the prophet Isaiah, unto us a son is given . . . and his name shall be called wonderful. Counsellor, the Mighty God, the Eerlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. During this most precious season, when millions the world over pay tribute to one of the most significant events in the history of the world, we join in praise of Jesus, whose birth was, indeed a momentuous occasion, as were his life and ministry. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only liegolten son, that whosoever believe! h in Him should not KTish, but have everlasting life. This is my work and my glory, the Sav mr said, to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of maty n another occasion, He declared, I am the resurrection and 'lie life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, set shall he live. Although the Lords condemnation of sin and hypocrisy was implacable and swift, His message was also one of forgiveness, and of peace and joy, love and good will. If ye keep my commandments, he shall abide in my love . . . that mv oy might remain in you, and that our joy might be full. With the sweet sounds of Christmas bells and carols in our ears, and in the loving warmth of family and home, let us loin in praising the Lord with heart and voice. We pray that all tamihess of the world will be blessed with the sweet of the spirit of the Lord, not only during this special season, but always. We and declare that Jesus Christ is literally the Son of God; that He is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. We smg with the angel of the Lord and the multitude of the heavenly host, and with all mankind, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
