I submit that we lost that war in the streets of the good old S.A., and not in the jungles of Nam. We lost against left-rnAmericans who rallied the support of an American ublic that had tired of the continuing war. The enemy used ur own people to sabotage our war effort. A lot has been said about our presence in Viet Nam. A lot of generals insist that we should never have and I am included one in, in the first place. Many to had we that make assert a stand iere, against It was unfortunate that our nation became divided md we surrendered to the Reds. The left wing of America did a masterful job in swinging the citizens of the United States to their command. Jane Fonda, the movie star, led the charge with the support of her husband, Tom Hayden. Ms. Fonda even travelled to the enemy's camp in the latter stages of the war in the guise of saving humanity. Since that time, we gullible Americans have glorified this traitor; we even gave g her an Oscar for performing in a movie, downgrading our part in the Viet Nam struggle. Now she has plans to use her movie money to launch her equally traitorous husband in politics. Where is Jane Fonda now? Now that her glorious Communist allies are committing so much murder and mayhem against the people we had championed, in our role in the n war we fought? Why didnt she arouse her terrible street forces in stopping the terrible exodus of the Boat Where is she now, when this same gang of murPeople? derers, she once visited, is starving millions of Cambodians, and wont allow American humanitarians to take food in to the starving masses? Why isnt Jane Fonda raising her tender voice in saving the unfortunate wretches of South East Asia, as she once claimed was her purpose, some years ago? Where are the people of America who supported Ms Fonda in her betrayal of America and the people who are now dieing in the jungles? Why are they so silent now? If their conscience was pricked back in the war days, why isnt it now? The activists are still active, but rather than protest-marc- h against attrocities in Southeast Asia, they are protesting at our atomic plants and in behalf of the murderers on death-roin the prisons across our country. No matter where they are operating, they are at the beck and call of their Soviet masters, but wont admit it, even to themselves. Many of them are dupes of Communism protesting only because someone told them it is the in thing. They are kids, and some adults, who have been recruited to rally behind a g causes. They arent thinking for themthousand them that. They are sincere, as they tell but dont selves, swallow the Red party line. 1961-197- g ,Ionday-mornin- g Com-nunis- if Red-orient- left-win- no-wi- w left-win- I i EDITH LAVAUGHN HARDING Mrs. Edith LaVaughn Harding. 75. of 3800 S. 1900 Hospital after a long illness. What can we do? Speak up Thats what. I choose to make myself heard in this column. You can write a letter to the editor of this paper and others. Tell the world how you feel about this and other matters. We have freedom in our country, but it won't endure unless Communism is stopped by you and me and the silent majority. Lets stop being gullible. The Communists have been telling us ever since 1917 just how they plan to defeat us. Lenin and Marx, in their writings, have advocated worldwide revolution to accomplish their evil design, and to them, the end justifies the means. Can you imagine any game of sport being played where the the rules and infiltrates the circle of opposition game officials? Can you imagine how it would be if the opposing team infiltrated our own team in the locker room, and then turned our own cheering section against us for not playing fair? The enemy is ruthless. He will do anything within his power to destroy us, and he is gaining valuable ground. We need to know the enemy and act to stop his progress toward our own destruction. We need to react with logic, not emotion. We can preserve our land of freedom, but only if we stand up for the principles of Democracy.
