The horse and rider go through their paces, rounding the barrels, with the crowd cheering them on. After the dust settles, residents may be surprised to find out the riders identity. Roys mayor, councilmen and city employees have agreed to participate in the kick-of- f event of this year's Roy Days, the Junior Show-D-On Posse's Wednesday, August 23, city officials along with three junior posse units will participate in the competition to begin at 6 p.m. at the Roy Junior Possee grounds, 5500 South 4300 West. There will be no admission charge to witness all this fun and excitment, according to FYed Chavez, posse adviser. The posses will compete in barrel racing and keyhole with the Taylor and Plain City South Junior Posses participating. The event is being sponsored by the Boots and Saddles Riding Club, Roy. Man Talent show gets slated Navy locally credit Seaman August Mark S. Corbett, son of Eugene M. Corbett of 16 S. Villa Drive, Clearfield, Utah, beginning at 6 p.m. The annual Talent Find will be held at the Hooper LDS Stake Center Cultural Hall located at 5601 S. 6150 W., Hooper, according to Kathleen F'owers, Chairman. Any type of talent can be performed, in no larger groups than four. The different divisions that one can participate include up to 10 years old in the junior division; 11 to 16 years of age in the intermediate division; and 17 years and older in the senior group.
