Born March 18, 1887 in Centerville, he was the son of Lorenzo and Martha Barber Schofield. He then married Ivy May Dalton on June 22, 1910 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mrs. Schofield died many years and has held many positions in the church. In 1974, Schofield received the Salt Lake Tribune Civic Beautification award for his Schofield Friendship Garden. He and his wife were also the sweethearts at Roy Days in 1976. Those surviving him include one son, Alvin L. Schofield of Salt Lake City and three daughters; Mrs. Walter D. (Dott) Adams, Ventura, Calif; Mrs. Leslie Nov. 11, 1976. Schofield has lived in Roy since son of Hansen, Douglas Karl and Roberta Charlene Dixon Hansen of 2213 W. 6000 S., was dead on arrival Friday, Feb. 24, 1978, at the McKay-De- e Hospital in Ogden of apparent crib death. He was born Jan. 13, 1978. in Ogden. The parents are members of the Roy LDS 3rd Ward. Surviving are his parents of Roy; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Jacob E. Hansen of Roy; Mrs. Carol Brillias, Roy; Charles R. Dixon, great-grandparent- and Mrs. Wallace Gailey, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Lina Hovat, Roy, Velden Krebs, Salt Lake City. Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a m. at the Roy Cemetery with Bishop A. George Nichols of the Roy 3rd Ward officiating. Friends may call at Lindquist and Sons Mortuary in Ogden Monday from 10 to 10:45 a m. (Rosemary) natural causes. He was a High Priest in the Rov 13th LDS Ward and was serving as secretary of the High Priest group He was an active temple worker and had been secretary in the Elders Quorum and a Sunday School teacher. He had been scout master in the Layton 10!h Ward.
