First, second and third place winners were selected on each grade level. Winners were as follows: AM Kindergarten: 1st Sheri Taylor, 2nd, Nicole Rich; 3rd. Mel Tillis, a national chart-buste- r and one of country Saturday, Mel Tillis musics greats was presented the top award on Country Read and Wen-lensko- Music use the by members of his peers. According to Dr. Reed Channell, Director of the school, the primary purpose of this program was to acquaint the children with ' -- older folks, who have had an occupation interesting through their lives. The patients, Mrs. John Aipperspach, Mr. Ernest Gilgen, and Mr. Walter Smith, visited the 15 children Monday afternoon at the school. Each patient talked to a small group of children, answering questions and during this telling about their lives and families. Helping to explain the Mormon Temple and family story will be six giant dioramas, depicting scenes from Kirtland to the Salt Lake Valley, the tithing store at Nauvoo, the exodus from Nauvoo, the arrival in the Salt Lake Valley, and construction of the Salt Lake Temple. The three dioramas for the Book of Mormon story, including Abinadi before King Noah, the Saviors visit to the Nephite, and the wounded Mormon with his son Moroni. The figure Mormon will be a talking mannequin. The new center will be constructed during the latter part of 1977. The models of the Visitors Center figures were shown to the Church president Spencer W. Kimball, and he commented, they're beautiful.
