FLOWERS FLAGS FOR soldiers GRAVES the hall a as nicely decorated for the decorah on day last sunday the folds of old G ory 1 I were peeping out from the banka of flowers and red thoughts of patriot m and reflect ons of other days wh i the gray ha red veterans of today were boys folio wine the flag against their brothel s of the south the program as shed last week was birned out v ith sobie ons then all went to the cemetery with wreitha bunches and babkees of flo era where tha graves of each vet eran rece ed a flag ai d i liberal de i of flo vers then the graves of relatives and friends were artil there were few graves not re memo ered there are only two veterans of the civil war in Castled als they are J L boulden and G W shiner both of whom attended the service and appear to be in good health aud sp nt mr shiner made an excellent talk on the war as did also john Pc terso veteran of the black hawk war it i a good thing to have these re minders of the dark days adt the boys today may imbibe a portion of the patriotism that has elways been a characteristic of the true american peace conferences and arbitration may do away with vars in the future but it is an open secret that that nation has the most respectful attention even at a peace conference who is kno to have a loyal citizenship ready to dia for the cause of r if need be therefore let us instill patriotism the love of country should be next to the love of god parents and home
