Before they came home they spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. George Field in San Diego, Mrs. Field is Mr. Madsens sister. Mrs. Madsen belongs to the Barlow family. and Norman Lynette Haugen have a new son born on June 7. Miss Lora Spencer will be spending the summer in Lima, Peru, a foreign exchange student. Lora was chosen from about a dozen' students applying early this year to make the trip. Students are extensively interviewed before they are finally selected for the honor. She has studied the French, Spanish and German languages. She is a Clearfield High student, seventeen years old, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Spencer. She will reside with the Ela Diaz family in Lima, leaving her on June 18 and will return in September. was Lorene Wallace hospitalized last week for tests which may result in heart surgery in the near future. Lindsey Workman was hospitalized last week for surgery. Mr. and Mrs. II. G. Ham mon and two grandsons Danny and Stephen Hammon of Brigham City spent Tuesday and Wednesday at Flaming Gorge fishing Six year old Stephen caught his very first fish and several more to go with it. John S. Nyland, 77, of Ogden who died on June 5 folic ving a stroke was the father of Mrs John (Lucille) Turner. Born in Colorado he lived in the Ogden area most of his life. His wife Mary Ellen Price Nyland died about a year ago. Hp is survived by tiiree daughters, six grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren Funeral services were on Friday in in burial the Ogden, Washington Heights Memorial Park Richard and Geraldine Lyons have a new son born on June 7. They visited for a s couple of days with Dr. parents, the Red Larsens. They spent two days on the Indian reservation enjoying a Monday LDS Family Night there. Mr. and Mrs. James Mum-forand their daughter Candy have been in our area visiting with parents Mr. and Mrs Rex Hampton and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mumford in Huntsville. They came from Great Falls, Montana where they moved recently, to attend graduation exercises at Utah State University, Mr. Mu Mumford his received Masters degree from Utah State last week. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Norton of Carson City, Nevada have been visiting her with Mr Shelly, Lar-nen- d Nortons sister and her family, Marilyn Konopasic. Mr. Norton goes on to Washington D C. this week, Mrs. ixorton and her baby will remain here until he returns. Mildred Porter of Clearfield, a former Sunset resident has been ill and in the hosDita Mr. and Mrs. V.iliard Neibaur are in our area visiting with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Neibaur and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Hampton. Willard graduated from a language school on June 7 at the Presideo, Monteray, Calif , he has been attending school there for the past year, lbs wife, the former Vicki Hampton, has been employed in Fresno. Willard graduated with .lonors second m the graduation class and will leave in about 20 days for a year in Thailand The annual DlP Jubilee will be held on Tuesday aune 19 in the West Point Cultural Hall.
