Miss Karen Wayment was chosen an attendant to queen Ruth Ann Rose for the Harvest Ball which was held at Clearfield High on Nov. 11. The other attendant was Pat Green. Karen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Wayment. Mrs. Norma Curtis Ashdown, 78, of Bountiful who died on Nov. 15 at her home was the mother of Larry Ashdown. Her husband, Wallace S. Ashdown died in 1969. She is survived by children Robert C., Bountiful; Larry Mrs. Stanford C., Sunset; (Norma) Kitterman, Pullman, Wash.; Mrs. Gordon (Melva) Plant, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Blair (Shirley) Adams, Lay-to18 grandchildren, two n, n. Funeral services were on Monday in the Bountiful East LDS Stake Center. Burial in the Bountiful Memorial Park. James and Mary Kuralt have a new son born on Nov. 17. Lynn and Kathleen Heinze have a new baby boy born on Nov. 20. Melvin E. Turner, 42, of Ogden died on Nov. 19 in the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City. He was the brother of Clovis John Tqrner. A native Utahn, he had been employed at Southern Pacific Railroad, and was a Korean war veteran. He is survived by his the former Janet widow, Checketts, 3 daughters, his parents of Ogden Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Turner, 2 brothers and one sister. Funeral services on Wednesday were in Ogden with Bishop Vurl Clark of the 17th inOouj pj ward officiating. Burial was in the Washington Heights Me- morial Park. The Jack Hobbs family enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward K. Dana in Ogden. Athol Knox Hickman, 68, died on Nov. 22 of natural causes in an Ogden hospital. He had been ill for a long time. Born in Hartsville, Mo., he and his family have lived in Sunset for many years. He was retired from the Ogden Arsenal. survived by his widow, the former Selma Banford, one son Herbert H. of Sunset, two daughters Mrs. Andrew E. (Shirley Vee) Anderson, Sacramento, Calif., Mrs. Bobby L. (RaNae) McDaniel, Layton, three grandchildren, three four sisters.
