A shortage of compeent instrumentalists within the Marine Corps has prompted this Musician Assignment Program. The program is designed to provide competent civilian instrumentalists with the opportunity to serve in a Marine Corps field band or drum and bugle corps at the same time providing skilled resources to improve and enhance the Marine Corps field music program. Applicants must qualify for regular enlistment in the Marine Corps and must pass an instrumental audition to demonstrate their musical proficiency. Assignments to this program are for a period of three or four years and there are possibilities of meritorious promotion and choice of duty station. For more information interested persons should contact either GySgt. Pat Mains or SSgt. Birch in Room 288 of the 2 main Post Office Building in Ogden or phone or 399-639- 399-645- 0.
