Baird and Tim Maxwell. The stones were discovered in the Nauvoo building which had served as the Mormon Church Information Center for many years and which was built in the 1850s by the Icarians out of stones from the Mormon Temple. They used the building for a school house. Later it was used as a Catholic school. Mr. Maxwell was doing some architectural investigation in the partial basement of a building when he found the two stones, said Mr. Baird. He recognized the stones and got me and several others to come and see them. They were on their sides and used as footings in the foundation wall. The architect was able to recognize them immediately as Mormon Temple stones, continued Mr. Baird. As we searched under the foundation wall, we found a total of five whole stones and two broken - the face of each of ones the stones is five feet six o, -- lb. & YOUR VALET PHONE: 394-264- 5 GRACE-Fro- architect was building under the building investigating what would need to be done to remodel the building into a home for the Nauvoo Mormon formed, recently Mission, when he saw them. he The sun stones served as capstones to the 30 columns of the Mormon Temple atNau-voPrior to this discovery at Nauvoo, the location of only two complete sun stones and a part of a third one was o. known. Then she was tail first, but he was able to level her off. After a series of convulsive ups and, downs, in which he sprained his wrist, he finally brought the plane down to level ground but there was a lake for as far as you could see. It had poured seven inches of rain in those few minutes, and the road was nothing but mud. He spied a farmhouse and landed nearby, close to some rocks and a pile of animal bones. He had a rope but there were no stakes for anchoring the plane, so Fred utilized a handy bone, pounding it into the ground, and got her safely nailed down. His life and successful business are built upon the right principles of honesty, fairplay and humanity. And, speaking of humanity, no one could possibly top June Roberts.
