Show I Record Setting Enrollments Forecast for This Fall r nf Upward of 64,000,000 young people of all ages are expected to pour into the nations school rooms come the start of the new fall term, just a few weeks away. Pressure of numbers will be felt mostly in the metropolitan areas, but few, if any, school districts will experience no problems, especially at the elementary and secondary school levels. The enormous total largest in history includes some 8,778,000 headed for college. 4 i- - Preview of New Term Cites Role Parents Must Play in Preparing For It All schools, no matter the age group served, whether they are public or private have suffered seriously financially this past year. Grave concern is noted among thoughtful parents, and involved educators, over lack of governmental support for education at all levels. Cooperation between concerned parents and educators in getting the support necessary for improvement of the American System of education becomes essential to the future of the nation. Meanwhile, as the new school term approaches, a more intimate dialogue between parents and their children can go far toward advancing their schooling. Educators have caught the message beamed from the vastly more knowledgeable and observant youth of all ages today and have moved to do things about it. The turbulence appears to have moved downward into the high school level where susceptible adolescents work off their teen-agenergy in sometimes disturbing ways. But this, too, is expected to pass as parents join with educators in solving such things as the "drug problem. At the very important ele mentary school level, reaching down into the nursery schools, the "open schoolroom is spreading as a means for engaging the natural curiosity of the child to enjoy learning. This is a replacement for the traditional "formalized type of teaching of the past with its discouraging dullness and monotony. e Parents preparing their children for school this fall, may achieve best results, for them by being "with it. m KNICKER KNITS have the fashion-knacdown pat for the young miss.
