Show Roy Group Renews Effort To Get School Improvement , Board Tells Group Federal Aid Must be Sougth Youth Club Seeks Money The citizens of Roy have been asked to help promote the newly organized Ogden City and Weber County Youth Association. It is being sponsored for youths from 14 to 20 years of age. A New Years Eve dance without liquor or similar hljinks will be held to help create a fund for improving the youth 'center on North Washington Blvd. The dance will be held at the associations present building a mile north of Ogden on the boulevard. Backed by the Junior Chamber of Commerce and Ogden business and parents, the organizations youth associations will use the funds from the dance to remodel the building into a large combination recreation hall, dance floor and canteen for teenagers and young adults. - It is hoped that all of Roys civic clubs, churches, business firms, Individuals, and parents will also back this new organization to help the young people. WILL SPONSOR EVENTS When the club gets on a firm footing they will sponsor midget league basball, softball, basketball, bowling and all types of team sports. Organized to bolster the recrca tional facilities for youth in and around Ogden the non profit, association is headed by Don Mueller, a young Ogden City police officer. Mrs. Mary F. Cntes is vice president and another Ogden policeman, Roger Grant, is the secretary-treasure- r Solicitors arc now canvassing houses in the city and county to get funds for the building fund "All of the solicitors will have bona fide contribution blanks," Mr. Mueller said.
