Roper respect Dear Editor: With about f0 people in attendance, all the preschool and future graduates of Maria Ropers 2003 graduating class had an evening of entertainment. Anyone who enrolls their child knows the work that Maria puts in for our kids. Not only do the parents appreciate it, but the children themselves respect and love Maria. We were entertained with songs in five different languages, reciting the alphabet in sign language, and each child gave a list of the most important things they learned this year, along with a display hoard of the best work they had done. Just to see the faces of those little guys marching down the isle in cap and gown made us realize as parents that all the hard work they have done for the year really meant a lot to them. Thank you Maria for not only loving our kids as they do you, hut going the extra mile. The parents of the 2003 preschool class Postal carriers food drive Dear Editor: We would like to say thank you to the postal carriers for picking up and delivering 1800 pounds of food to the Kane County (are & Share in Kanab, Orderville and Glendale. Once again the residents of Kane County have met the challenge. You have opened your hearts again to those in need. The food that you so graciously give is greatly appreciated. It is kept in the local food banks and distributed to those families in need. Ifyou know ofanyone who needs a helping hand, please have them come up and see us. Again thank you postal carriers. most everyone in favor of this Fly Ash operation seems to represent some kind a special interest. Did anyone mention bribes? Well even if not, it should tell the folks who were elected that residents are furious and demand their representatives do the right thing for the people, and not against as it seems in this case. This thing smells and has seen anything but due process. It seems illegal, unethical to say the least, or what? For right: Do applaud folks with new ideas, but dont bury the future of Big Water in a swamp of ash, anger, hostility and endless lawsuits. It is also a pedestrian crossing. In the event, God prevent, that a pedestrian is hit trying to cross in this crosswalk, that has no warning signs for motorist that this is a crosswalk and that vehicles are required to stop when a person is in the crosswalk and stay stopped until the person or persons are out of the crosswalk, the guilt would range from the driver of the accident vehicle to the insurance company to the City of Kanab, and the state, with enough litigants to go around and possibly empty out Kanabs treasury. I have seen vehicles squeeze between pedestrians and the curb and between the pedestrian and the traffic going the opposite way. I have felt the bumper Kanab High School.
