Jardine Blaine Johnson Jardine Blaine Johnson, 80, of San Luis Obispo, California, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2003 in Bayside Care Center, Morro Bay, California, after a long struggle with Alzheimers Disease. Arrangements for cremation are in charge of Neptune Society. An inurnment service will be held later. Blaine was born October 1, 1922, in Kanab, Utah, to Nephi Merrill and Sarah Jane Mace Johnson. He was an active pia- nist throughout his youth, accompanying school chorus, dance band, and at church. He also worked in the local drugstore while going to high school. After graduation from Kanab High, he moved to San Diego, California to be with family. After working for a time at the Bank of America, he enlisted in the Navy in May, 1942. He was placed in the Naval 2 pro V-1- keeping his pharmacy employment. He was an accomplished pianist, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music in 1950. He continued on at San Diego State College to complete his California teaching credential. Blaine began teaching in La MesaSpring Valley School District, La Mesa, California, in 1955, at fifth and sixth grade levels. He shared his musical talents throughout his teaching career, accompanying school chorus programs and special events. In 1963 he was awarded an Honorary Life Membership from the California Parent Teachers Association. He retired from teaching in 1984. Blaine married Frances Helen Malcolm Frykholm in Reno, Nevada, in 1963. He is survived by his wife and his daughter, Lora Jean (Lorie) Frykholm Johnson, both of San Luis Obispo, California, his sister, Alta Brooksby Petty of Kanab, Utah; as well as many nieces and nephews, whom he dearly TIMOTHY STEUN MINISTRIES PRESENTS: 8 ft ft It seems the folks at the Gates Foundation have thought of everything. There are many materials available to patrons to learn how to use these programs including an Online How To Use Feature, Quick Guide Lessons Plans, the Computer Companion book, and lesson plans on a training disk. All of these aids are housed with the two new computers and are easy to use. Feel free to ask the library staff for help also. In future columns, additional information will be given on specific programs such as PhotoDraw and Publisher and how they can be helpful to our patrons needs! Because of this grant, our library has greatly increased its ability to serve up information, resources and enjoyment for all patrons. We sure hope Kanab residents will take advantage of these wonderful opportunities. The library is truly becoming Kanabs digital information center.
