HATCH APPOINTS RON MADSEN UTAH DIRECTOR Ronald E. Madsen has been appointed Director of the Utah Offices for Senator Orrin Hatch. He will replace William C. Rod Cuthbert, a seminary teacher at Spanish Fork, Utah, was the guest speaker. He spoke of the purpose of life, using many stories and some humor. He encouraged all to be true to their convictions. Brad Lamb presented awards to students 9th through 12th grades that had read the entire Old Testament, and others who had read every day in the scriptures. Kenneth Bradshaw, John Easton, Lisa Florence, Bruce Thompson, Brenda Whiting and Todd Williams received certificates of graduation. Tammi Gonzalez and Debbie Myers received certificates of Piano recital to be held Fri., May 25 with honoU Connie Puffer has been awarded a Lifetime membership, a pin and a certificate to the Weber State Scholastic Honor Society. Such an honor is attained by maintaining a grade point average of at least 3.5. Connie is graduating from the Weber State Nursing Program at Dixie College on June 1st and 2nd. She has been on the honor roll every term for two years. She has been chosen by her instructors and classmates to give the commencement address. Mrs. Puffer graduated from MHS in 1967. She is the wife of Joe Puffer and has three children, Patti, Jill and Todd. Connie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Jones of Milford. She will join the staff at the Milford Hospital as an RN next month. Connie gives the credit for her success to her husband and child- BIBLE SCHOOL METHODIST CHURCH The Community United Methodist Church is sponsoring a Vacation Bible School June 11th through the 15th. Classes will be held at the Methodist Church, 350 N. 100 W. from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Children from the ages of 3 through 10, preschool through 4th grade, are invited to register. John was nominated for the award by Mr. Donald Willden, his mathematics teacher. He will appear in the United States Achievement Academy Official Yearbook published nationally each year. The Academy selects USAA winners upon the exclusive recommendation of teachers, coaches and counselors.
