Show I I 8$fM Bps OH fey Gofefe&o eSaaoGG AREA BIRTHS 28-2- . f"? Thursday played well unde, difficult circum -stances and their promise for the future Is very bright. At one point, In the second half, the Tgers had four men In serious foul trouble with four fouls apiece. The Rabbits shared these same kirnfr of foul problems; however, their bench pulled them through. There is no way that a Mark Yardley and a John Dotson can be removed from the line-u- p for personal foul reasons and the Tigers not suffer. Mark Yard-le- y had a superb game even though he played with three and four perHe sonals most of the game. ended the game with 30 points, 16 rebounds, 8 steals and 13 saves. John Dotson woo also played with personal foul problems ended the game with 15 points and eleven rebounds and 12 saves. Todd Williams was the third person in double figures for the Tigers with 15 points. Craig Patterson, playing hurt with a bad ankle still contributed seven Roger points and ten rebounds. Rose finished the game with four points. The loss does not Indicate In any way how well the Tigers played as a team. They shot 44 from the floor and 65 from the charity stripe, certainly one of their better shooting games. They also pulled down 43 rebounds on the quicker Rabbits. Even though Deltas bench and quickness contributed greatly to the Tigers loss. It didnt stop their efforts. They never gave up and were still trying down to the final buzzer. Milfords next game Is at home Friday against Valley High School. The Tigers from Milford High School were on the road once again, this time to play the Rabbits from Delta High School. Even though both the Junior Varsity and the Varsity Tigers lost, they proved they can play good basketball. Now they have to put four quarters together. TheTigers Junior Varsity gave a good account for themselves in the first half. After being down to the homestanding Rabbits by nine In the first quarter, they fought back to within six at half, 2. They ran their offense well and played tough aggressive defens ; however, as It has been In the past, their poor shooting kept them from being competitive, especially In the second half. The final score was Delta J.V. 71, Milford J.V. 48. Scoring wise, Scott Sullivan had 12 and he was followed by AaronMayer and Clayton Holm with eigtt each. The Tiger J.V.s shot 33 from the floor and 48 from the free t'.irow line. In the Varsity game, a very closely called contest on each team still did not slow down the uce of the game. Both teams were pressing which made for a spectators delight. The Tigers lost the contest 87 to 70 but the game was much closer than the final score Indicated. The difference In the game was two fold: the Rabbits had as much size as the Tigers and were much quicker; secondly, the Delta Rabbits had a much stronger ana more experienced bench which they used often. The Tiger bench was made up of a sophomore in Scott Sullivan and a freshman in Kerry Sherwood. Both of these Tigers ..
