Dr. GeorgeArmelagos, acting assistant professor of anthropology, and two graduate students, Sue Hengeveld and John Dewey, are studying the skeletal remains of people who lived in the Sudan between 250 B.C. and 1300 A.D. The remains were collected by Dr. Armelagos during an archeological expedition to the Sudan. The area where they were found will soon be flooded by the Nile River, backed up by the High Aswan Dam.
